Fr Peter Foulkes

Born Blackpool in 1940.
Seminary training at Ushaw College, Durham. Ordained priest at St Joseph's, Ansdell on 4th June 1966.

1966 - 73 curate to St Augustine's, Preston.
1973 - 84 curate at St Bede's, Carlisle
1985 - 85 year at the Irish Institute of Pastoral Liturgy, Carlow, Eire.
1985 - 97 parish priest at St Augustine's, Preston
1997 - 00 parish priest at St Joseph's, Seascale
2000 - parish priest at St Bernadette's, Lancaster.

Father Peter has two priest brothers:
Tony, died 4th October 2000
John, parish priest at St Kentigern's, Blackpool.

2000 - 2005
During the past five years the parish has continued to develop. A significant initiative in 2004 was the Stewardship programme, which invited all to recognize and share their gifts with the parish community.

In 2003, two people were received in full communion, and in 2005, three people were received into full communion.

The Diocesan Faith & Justice Commission continue to be based in the parish house.

In November 2004, Mrs Sharon Halsall was appointed head-teacher at St Bernadette’s School,

From 2002 – 2004, we were blessed to have Fr Andrew Unsworth residing in the parish house whilst studying at Lancaster University.
In a July 2005 we look forward to welcoming Canon Nicholas McArdle who is retiring to St Bernadette’s.

During this time the church has had a new copper roof, (2001) the Social Area redecorated and furnished (2003), and the interior of the church was redecorated in January 2005.
